Unanimous defense verdict in Queens for David Sisskind (May 2019)
Congratulations to David Sisskind for his most recent defense verdict! The 43 year old plaintiff’s case centered around an allegedly negligent bariatric surgery, after which she underwent 30 subsequent surgical procedures, including a complete gastrectomy, splenectomy and gastro-jenunostomy. Plaintiff’s counsel, Robert F. Danzi, demanded $3.5 million to settle the case and asked $5 million of the jury.
Unanimous Defense Verdict for Gerald DiEdwards in Nassau County (February 2019)
Gerald DiEdwards achieved a unanimous defense verdict in a Supreme Court, Nassau County Action before Justice Feinman on February 5, 2019. Plaintiff’s attorneys, Rheingold Guiffra Ruffo & Plotkin claimed that a contraindicated and unnecessary colonoscopy led to permanent bowel damage necessitating a permanent, lifelong colostomy. The amount demanded of the jury $1,000,000.

Denial of Summary Judgement reversed by Angela M. Ribaudo. (October 2018)
The New York Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department found that a ureteral stent was not a “foreign object” for purposes of medical malpractice statute and thus, action should have been dismissed as time-barred. The denial of summary judgment was reversed on these grounds. Angela M Ribaudo represented the appellant.
Samantha Quinn Triumphant in 1st Department (February 2018)
Samantha Quinn achieved a resounding victory in the Appellate Division’s First Department as the justices upheld the previously issued summary judgment. Ms. Quinn was able to conclusively show that no proximate cause was proven and unsupported hindsight was insufficient to create an issue of fact.
